Duration: 150 minutes (2.5 hours). No negative marking.
General category candidates must score minimum 60% (90 marks out of 150). OBC/SC/ST candidates need minimum 50% (75 marks out of 150). The certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of result declaration.

Candidates need Graduation with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) AND a B.Ed degree from an NCTE-recognized institution. Subject specialization in the optional area (Math & Science or Social Studies) is required.
Primary TET (Paper 1) is for teaching classes 1-5 and requires 12th + D.El.Ed. Upper Primary TET (Paper 2) is for teaching classes 6-8 and requires Graduation + B.Ed. The syllabus and difficulty level are higher for Upper Primary TET.
Candidates can choose between Mathematics & Science (combined) OR Social Studies as the optional subject for 60 marks. The choice depends on the candidate's graduation subjects.
