WB Primary TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) is conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) for recruitment of primary school teachers for classes 1 to 5 across government and government-aided schools in West Bengal. General category candidates must score minimum 60% (90 marks out of 150). OBC/SC/ST candidates must score minimum 50% (75 marks out of 150). The certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of result declaration.

Candidates must have Higher Secondary (12th) with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and D.El.Ed degree. Alternatively, those with Higher Secondary and B.Ed may also be eligible as per notification.
General category candidates need minimum 60% (90 out of 150 marks). OBC, SC, and ST candidates need minimum 50% (75 out of 150 marks). There is no negative marking in the exam.
The Primary TET certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of result declaration. Candidates can apply for primary teacher positions across West Bengal during this period.
As per NCTE guidelines, there is no upper age limit for TET exams. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to apply. Teachers have served well past 40-45 years of age as primary teachers.
