WB Primary TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) is conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) for recruitment of primary school teachers for classes 1 to 5 across government and government-aided schools in West Bengal. Eligibility Criteria

Age: Minimum 18 years (no upper age limit for TET as per NCTE guidelines)
Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary (12th) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B) AND passed or appearing in D.El.Ed (2-year diploma in elementary education)
Alternative Qualification: Higher Secondary with 50% marks AND B.Ed degree (for those who completed B.Ed before specific date as per notification)
Domicile: Candidates must have Bengali as a subject in school level; West Bengal domicile is preferred
Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India

Exam Pattern

Paper I — Primary TET

150 multiple-choice questions of 150 marks (1 mark each). 5 sections: Child Development & Pedagogy (30 Qs, 30 marks), Bengali (30 Qs, 30 marks), English (30 Qs, 30 marks), Mathematics (30 Qs, 30 marks), Environmental Studies (30 Qs, 30 marks). Duration: 150 minutes (2.5 hours). No negative marking.

Qualifying Criteria

General category candidates must score minimum 60% (90 marks out of 150). OBC/SC/ST candidates must score minimum 50% (75 marks out of 150). The certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of result declaration.
